Booklist Review

"There's travel books and travel books--if y' get my meaning," an Irishman--or woman--might say upon perusing travel photographer-author Jenner's latest. Our hypothetical Hibernian's meaning would be that whereas Michelin or Fodor might tell you how to get to and around the Emerald Isle, Jenner shows you why you must get to and around it. The chapters of his presentation trace the history of architecture in Ireland, from the tombs and dolmens of the neolithic to the monuments and the jails of the republic. To their prosaic enticements the ravishing imagery of Jenner's photos adds the coup de grace that renders the reader-viewer incapable of anything but the planning of his or her next hop across the pond to Erin. Operator, get me Aer Lingus. ~--Ray Olson
