Simon Bulmer is Jean Monet Professor of European Politics at the University of Manchester. His research interests include European Union-member state relations, EU governance and new institutionalism. His most recent book is British Devolution and European Policy-Making: Transforming Britain into Multi-Level Governance (co-written 2002). Christian Lequesne is Research Director at the Centre Français de Recherche en Science Sociales in Prague.He writes regular comments for the French daily newspaper Ouest-France. He has co-written or co-edited several books including Regions in Europe (1998) and The State of the European Community. Policies, Institutions and Debates in the Transition Years (1991).
