Booklist Review

No other ancient buildings are more fascinating than the pyramids of Egypt. This revision of an exemplary work discusses the conventional archaeological methods used to date the structures and explains their internal and external construction. The pyramids are explained in groups defined by size, date, and site, e.g., the Giza pyramids and the Luxor group in the Valley of the Kings. Excellent color and black-and-white photographs, drawings of the structures, paintings, and artifacts display ancient Egyptian art at its finest. The text, relatively free of technical jargon, addresses the popular audience. Appended: table of major Old and Middle Kingdom pyramids, maps, bibliography, and index.
