Enhanced descriptions from Syndetics:
Fires in hotels are, fortunately, rare occurrences. However, when they do occur they often result in multiple fatalities and serious injuries. When people are caught in a hotel fire, the experience can be even more disorienting than at home because customers are usually in unfamiliar surroundings and fire incidents typically occur in the middle of the night. This booklet addresses these concerns and has two main objectives: to supply training material for the use of frequent travellers to improve their awareness of hotel safety to give simple guidance to help local plants self-assess the hotels they use or recommend. As most companies have operations around the world we encourage all local plants to use this booklet to create a short-list of recommended hotels in their area that have been vetted to ensure the risk of fire has been adequately managed and to provide advice to visitors and booking agencies on hotel fire safety.
